The top prospect for the Boston Red Sox feels prepared to make his Major League debut.

Red Sox Rumors: The top prospect for the Boston Red Sox feels prepared to make his Major League debut.

The Boston Red Sox's Spring Training complex in Fort Myers, Florida, will provide them a chance to see some of their top young players vie for positions and opportunities on the major league roster over the course of the next month.

One of the few players with a chance to sneak a spot on Opening Day will be Roman Anthony, baseball's top prospect.

In 119 games between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester last season, Boston's 2022 second-round pick from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, dominated the minor leagues, hitting.291 with an OPS of.894, 18 home runs, 65 RBIs, and 21 stolen bases.

Although the designation of "No. 1 prospect" may provide pressure to some, Anthony doesn't find it very meaningful.

To be absolutely honest, Anthony stated, "I don't think any of it matters" (via The Athletic). "I haven't yet accomplished anything in the major leagues. All I can think about is getting there and supporting the team's victory.

Given that he only played 35 games for Worcester at the end of the 2024 season, Anthony may start the season there again, but he feels prepared for the next level.

"I have that mindset going into spring training, hoping to get a job, and I really don't have any other objectives. Anthony remarked, "I feel ready." "I'm exerting every effort. I have faith that the front desk will make the best choice.

Early in 2025, Anthony and Kristian Campbell will undoubtedly be up with the team, and if they do well in spring training, they might make their Boston debut on Opening Day.
