Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kyle Tucker MLB freade rumors free agency predictions
Some are anticipating the free agency class for the upcoming offseason as the 2025 Major League Baseball season approaches. The two players most likely to be available are Kyle Tucker of the Chicago Cubs and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays. Though Tucker may attract interest from more teams because to his position and more well-rounded game, MLB insiders unanimously stated that Guerrero will receive the larger deal. It will be interesting to see who ends up earning the larger contract next winter.
According to MLB.com Blue Jays reporter Keegan Matheson, "Vladdy will be younger and have more name value, but position value will matter." "I continue to believe that Guerrero will be the breakout star of free agency. After listening to him talk on Tuesday, I anticipate that he will have a fantastic season in 2025 because he is such a familiar face around the game.
As Matheson noted, Guerrero is the more well-known name and will generate a lot of interest from fans for any team he signs with. He is among the game's best batsmen. Guerrero is a few years younger than Tucker, who will be 28 when he becomes a free agency, but Tucker is a more well-rounded player who is a terrific defender and a very effective hitter.
MLB.com Bryan Hoch, a Yankees reporter, conjectured that Tucker had more clubs interested in him, but Guerrero receives the larger salary because of his star power and marketing worth. Anthony DiComo, a Mets reporter for MLB.com, expressed similar feelings. Another aspect at play was mentioned by Mark Feinsand, who stated that the Blue Jays are desperate to maintain their reputation.
According to Feinsand, Vladdy will sign the largest contract of the offseason, but Tucker will attract more interest given his position and overall play. "Given that the Jays have been the target of numerous high-profile free-agent pursuits over the last two years, it is impossible to deny that his current team may be desperate to get him back."
The Blue Jays might be more inclined to re-sign Guerrero than the Cubs are with Tucker, so this is a legitimate concern. Although Tucker is not as well-established as Guerrero is with the Blue Jays, the Cubs would probably want to re-sign him after acquiring him this offseason as a rental. The New York Mets may not be interested in Tucker after just acquiring Juan Soto and having Brandon Nimmo under contract in the outfield for years to come, and Toronto may up the price of Guerrero. Perhaps the Mets are a better fit for Guerrero.
It will be interesting to see where both guys end up and how big their contracts are when the next summer rolls around.
